PERSIAN GULF (June 22, 2007) – A flight deck director signals an aircraft during flight operations on the flight deck of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 11 were deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet conducting maritime operations and supporting troops participating in the global war on terrorism.
