PERSIAN GULF (June 19, 2007) - An E-2C Hawkeye, assigned to the "Wallbangers" of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 117, launches off the flight deck of nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and embarked Carrier Air Wing 11 were deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet conducting maritime operations and supporting the global war on terrorism.
