Blue Fin Expands

Falmouth: January 27, 2007 -- Blue Fin Sport Fishing Boats of Bristol Rhode Island is pleased to announce its expansion in distribution to South America, the Caribbean, and the following states: Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, California, Oregon, and Washington.

Upon completing an agreement with South East Blue Fin LLC. as a distributor for the above mentioned regions, Blue Fin has entered into a relationship with 107 year old world renowned boat builder Albin Marine located in Portsmouth Rhode Island to increase production of its 25, 27, and 30 foot boats. Production of the 33 Canyon will remain in Florida. Two new express models are planned, a 36 and a 42. Blue Fin has been building boats since 1974.

With an all new marketing campaign, and future branding as one of the best built boats in the country, we feel that these moves constitute Blue Fin’s commitment to its dealer base and quality control. “We are very excited about this states Greg Sullivan General Manager of Blue Fin, it’s a great opportunity to get our name out there as a serious offshore fishing machine. We have always known we have a quality product that’s built to exceed strengths that other boat builders would see as overkill, yet delivered to the consumer at reasonable price points”.

Most manufacturers mask structural construction deficiencies with aesthetically pleasing exteriors. Not Blue Fin! Their solid fiberglass lamination/construction is second to none. Using state of the art materials each model has between 11 and 13 layers of high quality material. Weaker, resin saturating materials such as woven roving are not used in the Blue Fin lamination schedule. Material is overlapped at all corners resulting in 20+ layers at all stress points. Large strakes are filled solid with hull and deck compound for added strength. And, all Blue Fin stringers and transoms are constructed using high density, composite foam thus further increasing the life of the boat. Blue Fin is so confident in their hull that they offer a limited lifetime transferable warranty to a 2nd owner within ten years on their offshore models.

Blue Fin is owned by Harry Turner, avid fisherman and National and World Off-Shore Racing Champion. From his experience and knowledge with Off-Shore racing, Harry designed the Blue Fin hulls. All models have a Multiple Planing-Surface Fast Step (MPF) which is a precisely designed raised section of the hull under the waterline at the rear of the boat. When on plane the boat actually leaves an unwetted, frictionless area in between. Thus, allowing for faster planing and higher top speeds. The result is better fuel efficiency, extended range and a drier ride. In addition to tracking true, the MPF step also offers an added benefit welcomed by the offshore fisherman; an extremely stable platform while fishing in open water.

“Typically, those that sea trial a Blue Fin, end up buying a Blue Fin”, states Harry. For more information about Blue Fin Sport Fishing Boats please visit bluefinboats.com.
