Brand New Avon RIBs for 2007

04/01/2007 [UK] (by Nicola Holder) -- Avon Inflatables, the UK’s leading RIB and inflatables manufacturer has announced they will debut the brand new Avon Adventure Open 580 and two versions of the eagerly anticipated four-stroke Seasport 320 Jet RIB at the Collins Stewart London Boat Show.

AVON’S TURBOCHARGED JET

Regarded as the pioneer of jet RIBs, Avon’s latest Seasport Jet, the 320 combines product excellence with 21st century technology, making it ‘the’ RIB to own. Available in two versions, the SC DL and SC RIB, the 320 utilises four-stroke technology, boasting a turbocharged 104hp 750cc engine that uses jet propulsion to guarantee reliability and power.

The SC DL is a deluxe version that offers fully upholstered side-by-side seating for the pilot and passenger and comes complete with an aft locker, three cleats, a console with folding steering wheel, and boarding step with integrated navigation lights.

The sporty, fun SC RIB model features a jockey driving position, and with a dry weight of only 300kg, it is the ideal tender for yachts with limited lifting capability. The Seasport 320 Jet SC RIB caters for thrill seekers, as owners of the 320 SC RIB can enjoy the thrill similar to that of a PWC due to the jockey seating, but can also take advantage of other on-water activities, such as water skiing and wake boarding.

Both models have been created with the best materials available including Avon’s renowned Hypalon®, and come complete with an upholstered bow locker, a rear seat for two and built in 45 litre fuel tank. With generous equipment, stylish good looks and the capability to carry four passengers, the 320 offers the perfect yacht tender, and is ideal for fun-filled days at sea and for transporting passengers.

ARE YOU READY FOR THE NEW ADVENTURE?
The Avon Adventure 580 Open can be seen for the first time at the Show. Created as the replacement for the successful Open 560, the pulse-racing Adventure Open 580 has a number of new features including a brand new hull.

The Avon Adventure hull is renowned for its performance and the new 580 is set to take this to a new level, as the model features an optimised hull, thanks to a combination of innovative techniques from the market leader. Its two lateral transoms, located in the rear third of the craft, allow the comfort associated with a deep V, combined with the performance, stability and handling of a catamaran hull. By reducing the wetted surface and friction at high speeds, these transoms allow the craft to reach top speeds in complete safety and control. They also serve to limit the amount of lean on the boat when breaching.

The maximum authorised engine power for the model has been increased from 115hp to 150hp for the new Adventure Open 580, ensuring excellent performance and power. Another benefit of the new model is the increased deck space, which now gives owners and their passengers over 5.30 sq mtrs of usable space onboard. The increased space makes it easier to manoeuvre onboard, and the large bow locker offers additional storage space.

The 580 Adventure Open RIB has an increased load capacity of 1550kg, 29% more than the 560, and can accommodate three more people than the previous model, allowing 13 people on board the new Adventure at any one time.
