Yamaha Pro Ryan Ingram has fished Lake Eufaula since he was a kid, and with a wealth of knowledge of the fishery, the 32-year-old angler opened his tacklebox of fishing tricks Saturday to take his second BASS win on the lake in less than a month.
Saturday at the fourth stop of the 2006 CITGO Bassmaster Southern Tour, Ingram took his first Bassmaster pro title. The Phenix City, Ala., angler’s other Eufaula win was at an ESPN Outdoors Bassmaster Series tournament.
Ingram, whose three-day total of 41 pounds, 8 ounces bested closest competitor Terry Scroggins by less than a pound, said his knowledge of Eufaula is what enabled him to win the $27,000 first-place check and a fully rigged boat valued at $45,000.
”I knew I had to keep to the areas that played to how I fish best, and that’s deep,” said Ingram. “But the water level had me worried, and I knew each day it was going to be harder than the day before. Very few things affect fish on this lake like water level does.
